Our primary objective in the fine arts department is to educate students in the areas of art, music, and theatre. Our hope as educators is to make the arts applicable and important to the everyday life of the student; while teaching them to focus their creative efforts towards Christ, the true creative artist of humanity.
The focus of the art course at TCPS is to develop each student’s creative thinking and abilities and instill an appreciation of the visual arts. The program will explore multiple mediums, styles, and the works of artists past and present. Art is an emotional release and a form of creative expression that can strengthen one’s self confidence. It provides problem solving and decision making opportunities while simultaneously developing work habits and a sense of responsibility. God is the ultimate artist and creator of all things. He has given each of us creative abilities and we can worship Him through ART.
