The transition into middle school represents an exciting time for students that often involves many adjustments, both socially and academically. It is a time when students are solidifying their view of self, their habits, and their belief system. This is why it is important to us to provide a nurturing educational environment where students thrive. It is not only our desire to encourage students to pursue excellence in academics, but also to examine their character and their relationships with those around them. In keeping with our motto of Christ First, Academics Second to None, our mission is to assist parents in training their child as they strive to grow in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Mrs. Kendra Johns has 12 years of experience in education and is entering her fourth year at TCPS. Mrs. Johns is married to Jake Johns and they have two daughters, Kylan and Karter. She and her family attend Skyline Church of Christ in Tupelo.
The Jennings Middle School consists of grades 7-8 and offers both a Biblically-integrated instructional curriculum and electives. In addition, the middle school offers a variety of sports opportunities, clubs, and other activities. Students worship in chapel each Thursday. At the beginning of each year, middle schoolers enjoy an off campus retreat to get to know each other. Students have a day full of fun and worship, while creating lifelong memories. A highlight for middle school students is their class trip. Seventh grade travels to Kentucky for the Ark experience, a tour of Abraham Lincoln’s childhood home, and various other stops along the way. Our eighth grade class heads to Natchez, MS with stops at the Civil Rights Museum in Jackson. They also attend a career expo each year.
